REVIEW: TEA TOURIST MAY BOX

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI am on a mission to get up to date with my Tea Tourist box reviews! I am absolutely awful at keeping a schedule with this blog, I am a bit of a perfectionist and I don't like posting reviews with photos that I'm not 100% happy with, so I find that a lot of the time I take about 4 sets of photos for each post before I take some that I'm happy with - that, and I'll sit down with the intention of writing a blog post and 10 minutes later I'll find myself on YouTube watching videos of cats riding Roombas. Ramble over, onto the review!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERADoomni SFTGFOP - Pekoe tea Before I read the description of this tea I was so confused by the name, it looks like it should sound like a sneeze or something, but to my surprise (and slight disappointment, I was having fun trying to figure out how you pronounce it) it actually stands for Special Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe! This black tea is packed with flavour, malty yet sweet at the same time, a really excellent quality black tea.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERARooibos Rhubarb Fudge - PiachaI loved this tea from the moment I first opened the bag. I already have a bag of this at home but I'm really glad it was included in this box as it reminded me how marvellous of a tea it is and I've pulled it out to the front of my stash where it deserves to be. To me, this tea is the perfect blend of sweet and tart, the flavours don't mask each other or over power, they just work together. I love rhubarb and I'm really glad to be seeing it in more and more teas nowadays.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA White Bellini - The Tea Experience For some reason I just can't get to grips with white tea, I'm not sure if it's just that I'm not careful enough to brew it properly or because I'm just not too keen on it but I seem to have really gone off the taste of it. I love the peach flavour to this tea and it does work well with the delicate white tea I'm just not a huge fan of it right now.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERALemongrass & Ginger - Morgan's Brew Tea CompanyI think that everyone needs a tea like this in their collection. The lemon and ginger make it perfect for if you're feeling a bit under the weather and this one has the added kick of the green tea, making this a perfect blend for those groggy early mornings.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASherlock Holmes Tea - CHASH The Fine Tea Co This tea is a weird one, I felt like the flavour almost changed with every sip I took. One sip you'd get a thick taste of smokey lapsang, then the next sip would taste almost fruity. When I first brewed a cup of this I wasn't sure that I would like it because of how complex the smell on its own was but by the time I reached the bottom of the cup I had totally changed my mind. I felt like this was a novel of different tastes and each sip was the start of a new chapter.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAApple & Grapefruit - Tea Shirt London Tea Shirt London are one of my favourite tea companies that I've reviewed, they have a huge variety of blends on offer and loads of really innovative and unique blends. Apple & Grapefruit is one that I haven't tried yet so I was really pleased to see this in this months box. I tried this blend cold brewed and it worked perfectly, the tart grapefruit isn't too overpowering but does give the tea a super refreshing kick, mixed with other citrus fruit and some berries, this makes an amazing summer iced tea. If you fancy getting a box of exciting new teas to try every month you can get 30% off your first Tea Tourist box if you use my code AMYLEE30!
